DMR+ Network – Set up any options you want to use 1.

Note 1: If you don't want to auto-connect to a talkgroup (when Pi-Star is set up as a hotspot),
use: StartRef=4000;RelinkTime=60;UserLink=1;TS1_1=9;

Note 2: If you turn off DMR Mode via MMDVMHost Configuration, these options aren't saved.

Please wait for CODING CHANGES -  PISTAR and NXDN is under development March / April 2018

Pi-Star NXDN is OFF Line

RX NXDN but NO TX

I hear RX NXDN users but it doesn’t hear my transmissions.
Before I mess with RxOffset I think this is a issue that needs attention first.

Updates and Changes to Jessie Pi-Star

Updates and Changes to Jessie Pi-Star

With the release of the Pi3 B+ there have been a number of changes to Stretch to support the new board, those changes have not (yet) propagated to Jessie (Pi-Star 3.x is based on Jessie).

However I know a number of you already have Pi 3B+ boards, so I have made a custom image to support these, the kernel is *not* upgradable on this image, please keep that in mind if you choose to use it.

Pi-Star v4.x is built on Stretch, it will support these boards better and apart from a passing resemblance to the current chain, its a very different animal - I hope this beta build will keep you going until we can get 4.x out of the door.

Setup WPA over SSH

How-To for setting up WPA over SSH, for those times when the Web Portal just won't work out for you....
1. SSH into your Pi, using the username of 'pi-star' and either the default password of 'raspberry' or your own password if you changed it on the dashboard.

My solution for using pi-star at mobile FREE wifi mobile hotspots while travelling

Understood when travelling and maybe using free wifi to connect a hotspot.

Outlined is an example of how to transfer the "wpa_supplicant.conf" file with wifi setting onto a SDcard and moved to the hotspot device.  To activate that device on free wifi ie.coffee shop.

JumboSpot Pi-star Settings

JumboSpot Pi-star Settings

I have acquired a Jumbo Spot 17 board to try on Pi Star, there is a sticker on it saying RXOFFSET=500 TXOFFSET=500
P25 OFFSET=+200.

I have put the 500 offset in RX and TX in MMDVM Host in expert mode, but what is the P25 offset referring to ?

It doesn't say TX or RX, there is another RXD and TXD offset setting, does it refer to this I wonder.

How to connect a headless Raspberry Pi at coffee shops

How to connect a headless Raspberry Pi at coffee shops?

I want to develop my Pi project at various coffee shops around town. Given a laptop and headless Pi, how can I get networking setup? I'm assuming I need to connect the Pi to the coffee shop network, but how do I do that without a monitor connected to the Pi?

I have a couple of ideas, including: - modifying a noobs image on the spot on the laptop (but I'm not sure what will happen when the network asks the Pi to "accept" their terms and conditions) - use Bluetooth to connect to the Pi and set up the network settings through that

How have others solved this? Any ideas are most appreciated!
